What Technology do you think works and Why?

The "Dragon" talk to text software is great. I have several students that are participating a lot more willingly in writing projects because of it.

  5. We have also had success using Dragon in our use of iPod touches in the classroom. We have, however noticed a little bit of difficulty when students have an accent, it may not pick up on the proper words. Does anybody have any suggestions around this?

  6. I tried using Dragon once again for math-talk. We came up to some challenges due to surrounding noise (station time) and speed of speech. Their responses were coming out all mashed up and some were quite amusing. We are using this experience to learn from it. We had some good laughs!

  7. I think that the Geometer's Sketchpad works well because it allows students to see what defines a figure. For example, the geometric properties of a triangle can be deduced through dragging a triangle through "infinite" variations and each time the angle sum is 180 degrees.

  8. Sharon talked about Audacity today. Some of the teachers had already used it and told us how they used it with their students. Some used it for fluency and said that the students really like to haer their voice and retape it until it sounded the way they thought it should.
